I have Photoshop CS3 and I am having problems opening NEF files. It says could not open the file because it is the wrong kind of document. I can view them in picture project but want to use CS3 to edit them. Any thoughts? Paul

CS3 can't open NEF files. I know there was a plugin you could get from Nikon that would work for CS2 but i'm not sure about CS3. Also you could try the updated "Camera Raw" plugin from adobe if your camera is on the list. Check HERE Barrie Web Hosting and Barrie Web Design

Though this has been resolved, I'd like to mention with my Photoshop CS4, I can simply go to File>Open and select an *.NEF file without a problem. I can also right click on the file, go to Open With>Photoshop CS4 and it'll open. I havn't downloaded a plug-in to do this. Maybe a new feature in CS4?
