new computer wont play DVDs????

Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.

is the message i get
is there something free i can use ?
this is a brand new computer and i,m just learning it

For you to play dvds with media player you would need software installed that would install the dvd decorder. You can download VLC PLAYER and it will play everything and it's free.
