hi all
ok im real new to these so dont laugh lol..ok im looking into getting into the graphic design industry and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction
im after software that i can create logos and other multimedia objects, something that is relatively user friendly,i will primarily be creating logos ,any input welcome
thanks again

Any software that can save the image in the desired format will work. Corel, IrfanView, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro will work for static images. It's not the software, but the user that creates.

All of the people I know who do Graphic Design use MACs. The ones I work with all have degrees, so if you're really interested, you may want to pursue formal education in the field.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Some level of schooling is certainly reccomended. It's what I do for a living ;)

I have to disagree with Wizard-Fred. The applications he listed are image editing applications. There are primarily designed for manipulating rasterized images - those are images that are created for a specific size. They can be enlarged or reuced, but you lose quality in the process.
For creating logos, you want an application that is primarity designed for creating vector based images. Vector based images can be scaled to any size without losing quality. The premier application for this is Adobe Illustrator. However it does cost a lot.

Actually, you can create vector art and save as .EPS in photoshop, but yes, Illustrator is MUCH more capable.
