I have a large number of short video clips and stills all taken with my digital camera and stored on my PC.
I want a simple program that will put them ALL in date order (ie not separate the videos from the stills) and then play them back as a slideshow (or allow me to flick through them) FULL SCREEN. Picassa will put them in date oder and allow me to flick through them but I have to click and hold ALT/CNTRL to see the stills full screen and the videos only play in a small window. Can anyone please suggest a program that will do what I want.
Many thanks, Alverina.

But Picasa2 has a "slideshow" facility?? Mine show full screen.
There is also "Irfanview", together with its plug-ins from (Free)
http://www.irfanview.com/
It is a highly regarded program, easy to use and will burn slideshows to CD if you wish.

Not what you asked for but may meet your needs anyway but using a different method to the madness.
Already in WinXP SP2 is Photostory 3 to make slideshows of your still images (you can add music if you like) and Windows Movie Maker 2 that you can use to combine all of your videos into a single one.
Two very nice programs by MS for free. Very user friendly and takes little time to produce the desired output.
Regards,
BryanP.S. I include the MS downlaod links just incase.

Many thanks for the suggestions and links. Appreciated. I'll have a look at combining the 2 MS programs as suggested but I presumably won't be able to slot the videos in chronologically among the stills which is what I wanted. As regards Picasa, yes its slideshow is full screen but only stills NOT videos unless you know different.
Otherwise I'll see if Irfanview does what I want - unless someone can suggest another way.
Many thanks for the help I've had so far.

"I presumably won't be able to slot the videos in chronologically among the stills which is what I wanted."
You can, but you will have to slot them manually versus the program doing it for you.
Make individual movies containing several stills.
When you save the files (or stills) just add the date to their name so when you insert them into the final video time line they will be in the order you desire. Just drag and drop the individual movies into the final combined video.
For an example go to http://moviemaker.neptune.com/
Select Visit Gallery, go to Travel and Scenic and on the last page see either (or both) entitled LakeTahoeRunlt or CresentCityRunlt for a good example of combining stills with music and video using PhotoStory and MovieMaker. All of the vidoes on that site were made with MovieMaker.
and...for some very good info and tips for using both programs visit http://www.papajohn.org/ as that site is dedicated to it/them.
Enjoy,
Bryan

I'd lay it out in a video editing timeline.
Premiere, Imovie, Ulead, take your pick. You can set size and duration for each element. The video and the stills you have are probably different resolutions as well, which is why they show at different sizes. Especially if these all came from the same camera. There'as no "full screen res video" point and shoot still cameras out there. Full screen would most likely look like as$.

Thanks everyone for your help.
Nothing is ever simple is it!
I'm working through the MS idea at present and it looks promising.
Re full-screen videos from a digital camera, the ones from my Casio Z750 are equally as good as those from my (2 year old) JVC camcorder.
Thanks again, Alverina.
