I downloaded and installed MS Photo Editor. When starting the programm I instantly get the following message: "No File Information Can Be Found In The Registry". The programm then starts, but does not recognise any of the formats it should recognise (JPG , GIF etc). Does anyone know how to provide the registry with the information mentioned?

alebrou,
Check out the possible solution at the link below."No file format information can be found in the Registry" error message when you start Photo Editor.

Dear Tufenuf,
Thanks so much.
I tried to do exactly what was asked. (make sure that the user has full control, using the Regedit.exe - prompt).
Unfortunately it didn't help. Also I tried to re-install the thing as administrator (which obviously has full control)... nada.
Any other suggestions?
In any case: thanks again!!!
Ciao

Tufenuf, you're the best!
I solved my problem.
For those who care: go to the exe of the programm. Right-click. Go to the compatibility-mode and set it to the apropriate version. Thanks again Tufenuf!

alebrou, Glad to see that the problem is fixed & Thanks for posting back how you fixed it. It will be helpful to others who may run into the same problem.
