From time to time I need to move 500 plus colour pictures to my C hard drive which has around 100 GB spare. If moving singly from the CD after around 30 images I get "scratch disc full" message. Neither scratch disc is my C drive where I'm sending the images and they each have 50% spare storage (About 40GB). If I send all the images together to MY PICTURES file within C and then transfer singly from there to the Photo de Luxe program after around 30 images I get "disc is full". If I come back in 24 hours the problem might have gone but will come back after another lot of image transfers.
I regularly Defragment and Disc Clean up.

Scratch disks can be a problem with how they access memory.

Try just copying them in Windows Explorer and skipping the Photo software back up option.

When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it.
