I can't get Mkv video files to play properly. I have to convert to avi xvid or dvd or for that matter flash for them to play. Have the newest vlc player winxp sp3 1 gig ram also winamp Pro and they won't play normally while everthing else does. sometimes video feels like comming on but it's just a bunch of still pictures not a video
Have tried on a Acer Laptop 5612 with Ubuntu 12.04 with same Vlc player and works perfectly. It appears Windows may be the problem, Have found this to be a problem quite often since installing Ubuntu. Both are pretty well the same 1.7 and 1 gig. Seems as if Windows is resource heavy while Ubuntu is very light on resources
Tried to load CCCP but it tries to shut down parts of Winamp and the Nero burning Program that we use often we have 4 operating computers in the house 3 with xp sp3 and one with ubuntu 2 with 1.7 cpu's and 1gig ram (1 tower and 1 laptop) and 2 old clunkers (1 800 meg 1gig ram and 1 800meg 512 ram) that we use for music, radio and small stuff. They're all on the web. Even the oldest plays avi xvid perfectly with 512 meg of ram and it has an old crt monitor and the videos are exceptionally clear compaired to the flatscreen monitors. The only one that compairs is the Laptop and thats because of the type of screen technology used.
