Windows XP SP2 comes with Movie Maker 2. It's free, pretty easy to use and produces a good video.

Look for it in Start, All Programs or download it from Microsoft at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...

Your windows will be checked for validation if you try to download it. If your windows validate, you'll get the program

While this is true, it must be remembered that it has only very basic capabilities.
