lightest free image editor

Specs: xp sp3, 3.x
Hey all, I am looking for a really light(a.k.a. small) and of course FREE image editing program that I can distribute for users I want to teach how to use ScreenGrab in Firefox. I just tested it on my machine, and because MS Word is not technically an "image editing" program, you cannot use the copy function from ScreenGrab and paste it into Word. I've had PSP 7 for years and love that, but it's not free to advise people to get, and I also am looking for something much lighter than that.

Any suggestions or leads will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!! :)

I've never tried it (I use PSP also), but I've seen several people recommend the free Picasa.

FWIW to XP users: When you click on the 'Command Prompt' you are just causing the 'Command prompt' to be displayed. This prompt gives you access to NTVDM.EXE, the 'NT Virtual DOS Manager'.

What's wrong with Irfanview, does it not provide sufficient editing functions for your needs?
