LCD on digi cam way 2 dark ?

I recently bought a digi cam, and the LCD is really dark , Also when I transfer from digi to pc via USB the pictures come out black, where as previously they were reasonable (after flash). If they r put onto my memory card, they will come out fantastic when transfered to a mobile phone, just not on my LCD or PC I am on Windows xp pro and the camera is a digigr8 3.1 mega pix cam ..
