I am wanting to hook up my laptop to my projection TV using s-video cable. I hooked up the 2 using an s video cable and I can't seem to get any signal to the TV. In researching on the internet I found it may have something to do my video card, either lack of or one that may not be compatible. I checked under device manager to see what kind of video card I had and this is what it said: Mobile Intel(R)945GM Express Chipset Family. This is foreign to lingo to me as I have only moderate (and intermittent) computer knowledge. If someone could give me or point me in the direction of a step by step info on how to hook up the tv to my laptop that would be great. Also info as to what video card I have or possibly need. And if I did need a video card is this something I could buy and install externally. Thanx

It might help if you told us what display settings you changed, when trying to get this working. After all, it's not as simple as plug it in and it works. There are settings to be changed.

You don't need any additional hardware.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

Go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced and browse around a bit. You might find a setting that looks interesting.

If its a projection TV then check for a VGA input. The quality will be substancially better
