Well it certainly can't be converted to a DSLR. Conversion requires that the existing backplate be removed and replaced with a compatible digital back, and digital backs were only manufactured for really expensive film cameras like Hasselblad's and Leica's.

"but the film has its defects"

Not sure what you mean by that. You can still buy 35mm film online but it's really becoming obsolete now. I wouldn't bother with it. Konica was a mass-market brand anyway, not really known for quality. And anyway, nobody is in the business of repairing film cameras today -- it's all digital.

It cannot be repaired. Konica-Minolta's camera division was purchased by Sony several years back and they have since dropped support for them.

An independent camera shop may be able to fix it. Many purists still prefer film cameras to digital, so if it is a decent quality one then they may be able to help you. Check in your local directory.
