It should have come with one - presume lost or broken?? I guess JVC dealer might help but at a cost, I reckon!

It didnt come with a control and there was no mention of it in the accessories which came with the camcorder and I cannot find any mention of it on their site. But I know it can have one but its where I can get one from

"But I know it can have one"

Where did you get this information? If you found some documentation that it can have an optiional remote, it should have mentioned where one can be obtained.

Maybe I have jumped to conclusions but in the menu on the camcorder it shows a facility to turn the remote control on/off.

Well, I understand where you are coming from. I have a JVC camcorder that did come with a remote, but I don't recall any function to turn it on or off.

Is there no mention in the manual about that option? Perhaps its for another feature and they worded it poorly.

However, if it is to work with a remote and you cannot find one. You could try borrowing a JVC remote for another camcorder and trying it on your camera. If it works then buy a learning remote and use the other JVC remote to program that one.

The manual is minimal what it does state is

"Remote - OFF disables the remote control operation ON enables the remote control operation. It is recommended that this function be bet to OFF to prevent improper operation."

Maybe the remote is for some other function as you suggest, but as yet we havent found it. Maybe we presumed wrongly thinking the remote meant remote controller.

Thanks for your suggestion about the learning remote I just need to locate a JVC one now to try the theory out. Thanks again.
