My digital camera (Nikon S52) on the default setting takes JPG pictures that are about 1.8 MB in size. After I perform the most minor edit in MS Paint, and save it again in JPG format, I noticed that the size is immediately reduced to around 1.3 MB. What is MS Paint doing?

Summary: I normaly save my jpg's to a R/W CD as 'Data' until I have enough to fill a CD then burn. I've just tried saving to a R/W DVD as 'Data' but get an error msg saying it's not suitable.... Is it possible...
