Hello,

I just downloaded a 40 min AVI video from the net. When i played it on the computer, no problem, but when i burned it on dvd using Nero Vision, the picture is kind of jerky durin pans et movements in general.

Here are the specs og the video, maybe you, experts, will know what is going on. So here's what "video inspector" is rapporting:

Resolution: 1280x720 (16x9)
FPS: 23.98
Bitrate 3010 Kbps
Quality factor: 0.14 b/px
Codec: Divx

Thank you.

Sounds like it's at the wrong framerate. If you're in the USA, your TV shows video at 29.97fps. Almost everywhere else in the world, it's 25fps. If the video is interlaced, double the respective framerates.
23.98fps is the standard framerate for film.

I don't use Nero Vision, but it should have asked you whether you need NTSC (29.97fps) or PAL (25fps). There's a chance that Nero Vision isn't interpolating the video properly.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

In HD, the following are standards for framerate: 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 frames/sec.

So 24, like in movies, is standards and should not present any "jerkyness".

The problem is elsewhere. Maybe you're right, Nero do no interpolate HD correctly. That's what i want to discover.

Thanks.

Are you using a HD TV?

If not, the framerate problem is relevant.

Yes, i am using an hdtv (KV34HS420), but, i burned a standard dvd that just happened to be in 16x9 because of it's 1280x720 resolution.
