I have a Sony handycam that I want to hook up to my 'puter to take photographs. Basically, I want to use the camera as an eye and use software to take the picture. I'm using USB to connect camera to PC but what program(s) do I need to use to get this working? An example would help a lot. Right now, I'm just looking for Shareware/Freeware.
In case this matters about my question above, this is what I'm doing... I'm trying to make animations using a gif animator but would like to import real drawings/frames. I only have the handycam at the moment so I'd like to use that for now if at all possible.
Ah... So this is what I need then? I didn't even think of Sony.com. Duh. THanks.

If you want to take a snapshot of a frame,Windows Movie Maker will do it. You could also use Nero or Photoshop if you have it. I'm sure there are others as well.
