I cleaned out my computer and now everything is working great... except the built in memory card reader won't work. When I insert the memory card from my camera that i have used many times before, nothing happens, it doesn't even recognize that anything is there. I have tried going into control panel and device manager but there is no card reader in there... what can i do? Is there software that was deleted i need to reinstall? if so... what?

Any yellow marks? Might consider a restore point (may not work but easy to try) Might have to use help and support for system information to get more detailed info on what is wrong. Many laptops have odd construction. It maybe that the reader is connected via a pci to pci bridge or attached as a ide device or something odd. you should have to go to device manager n then to usb port through which u r using the memory card if its giving error of software not installed...then you should insert the cd or dvd of operating which had been installed by you on your pc..and through the same location in the device manager locate your usb software through the cd or dvd
