I moved my jpg photos from XP to Vista

April 17, 2011 at 13:13:57
Specs: Windows Vista
My windows XP "C" drive semi-crashed. I moved my photos (jpg) from my backup "D" drive to a flashdrive and then over to my new Windows Vista "C" drive and I odn't have the program I was using to open them with. I tried every program on the Vista computer but nothing opens them, I get an file format error or that it just can't open them because they may be corrupt?

How did you go about moving them (cut & paste, drag'n'drop, etc)?

If you right-click on one of them and select "Properties", is it described as a jpeg file or a shortcut?

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

I selected all in the folder and "moved to folder" on the other drive. and the same for moving back to CPU with Vista OS. When I right-click the properties say"jpg" file and open with Windows photo gallery. Even when I select a different "open with" they won't open.
