+HP pavillion windows 7 can't see my canon zr850

Specs: Windows 7
My old pavilion with xp died, my new pavilion has windows 7 and I installed a PCI express card with firewire to access my older dvd Rw drive and also my canon video cam. The computer will see and read the dvd firewire drive but does not see my video cam at all. All the cables work, I tried connecting through the dvr. but still nothing...I also tried changing the Driver in the device manager to legacy, still nothing. The canon website says the canon zr850 is compatible with windows 7 so they don't offer any new drivers...

With your camcorder connected, go to your device manager, click on the view menu at the top of the window, now select devices by connection.

You will have to dig down some using the arrows next to the components.

So open your ACPI, Microsoft ACPI, PCI Bus, Then open up the PCI root ports and PCI bridge entries.

We are looking for your 1394 OHCI compliant Host Controller.

Now, is your camcorder there?

If not, then it is not detected by your system.

Try the ubCore 1394 drivers, there is also firewire camera drivers there.

You will want the non pro version.
