Specs: Windows 7

I’m arranging thousands of photos. in the majority of them the date of capture is correct. in one of the cameras the date was not updated and there is a large shift. how can i correct the shift allowing the chronological insertion of these pictures into the rest that are set?

Someone on these boards suggested that IrfanView can do sorting but I can't speak from personal experience:

If it is only the minority that are out of step it might be easiest to change their names so that their alphabetical sequence fits in with the rest.

I have an old file date changer on my retired XP which I can check out if needed. However it will not change the "photo taken" date if that is what is required.
