II plan to create a slide show to show on a large TV that will be used for instruction. I wish to make the advancement of the slides as needed depending on the length of time the audience wishes to spend on it. I would like to control the advancement of the slides with the DVD Player remote.

Just put your pics onto a CD...number them (depending on how many you have) start with 01 or if you have lots of pics 001
You can easily number the pics using irfanview.Then you can advance the photos as fast as you want to using the remote. No need to make a slideshow on that....
