If your laptop has a memory card slot which can take memory sticks then that is the easiest way - just put it in and the computer will ask what you want to do with the images. However, I'd be surprised if your laptop has a memory stick slot, unless it's a Sony, most have slots for SD cards. In which case the next option is to buy a cheap card reader - usually less than £10 - and use that instead.

You can also probably use the USB cable, but you need to check on the Sony website to see if there's a Windows 7 driver available for your Handycam or whether it should be recognised automatically. Disadvantage with this is that you will probably end up with extra Sony software that you don't want.

Use a card reader and then I would suggest Picasa from google. That way Picasa will import your pics and it also has all the editing stuff for the pics....excellent program, I use that with my Beach & wedding photography, as well as Photo Shop for the fine tuning.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
