How do I fix my color?

Okay, whenever I play any media player, including PowerDVD the color is off, either green or blue. Upon the advice of a freind I downloaded a bunch of codecs and it only made the screen extremely white so now I can barely see it at all.
I never had this problem until after I had to get my computer formatted a few months back and I have no idea how to fix it. I've heard something about drivers but I have no idea where to get them or which ones I need.

depending on your PC....did you get recovery software with it? If so, is there a Driver CD included? The reason I'm asking is because I have a Gateway PC that came with the recovery discs...when I up-graded to WinXP Home, XP loaded all the drivers and my Video sound was at 1/3 speed. I had to use my Driver CD that came with my PC to re-install the proper driver and all is well now.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
