I am having trouble making a DVD. I have a movie in avi format in two parts. Now I have managed to join the avi files into one avi file with Easy Video Joiner. From what I have been reading on the internet, it looks as though the next step would be to create VOB,IFO and BUP files. I have downloaded "ifoedit" and "vobedit" and managed to create those files needed for dvd. After all was finished, I burned the dvd using WinAvi ver.6 but had no sound when finished. So I did everything all over again. This time I used WinAvi to convert the avi to the necessary dvd files. But when I went to burn the movie again....it was the second half of the movie that was on it and not the first half. The movie was originally in 2 parts before I joined them together. I have also tried to burn the dvd with NeroExpress6. That gave me an error message. I can't remember what it had said other than it was unable to make the dvd movie due to an update I needed. The update was a plugin for dvd-mpeg2. I haven't tried it yet. How can I make a successful dvd using split avi's or joined avi's? I have no idea what I'm NOT doing. Thanks for your help.

That sounds pretty complicated. Have you tried making the movie using windows moviemaker? You should be able to import both avis and make your movie.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

NeroVisionExpress will join two avis and do the whole thing for you. It's just slower than you might like.
I wonder what'll happen if I do this ?

If you have Nero and don't have Vision Express, check the Nero web site. It used to be a free addition.
If you don't have Nero, purchase a DVD Creation program. There are several available.
It's not necessary to join movies when making DVDs. The fact is that VOB files are limited to 1GB. So very large movies will be broken up, but they will play OK without any visible indication of a break.
Sorry, I do not check for private messages
