Dear friends, I am writing in this forum after a long time. Many thanks to all of you who answered my question. I have got a important question to ask and I am sure someone there will help me out. I have got some pictures of some houses on my harddrive. I am intending to build a house and I was trying to trim part of the picture and wanted to modify it and replace the room with another picture. I mean to say that I wanted to paste another roof on this picture.I cannot do it with cut and paste. I cant find this when I get the picture on my screen.The picture is stored in ZoomBrowser. What is the best way to modify a picture. I have got the house picture which I want to trim and add something else on to it. Can somebody please help me. Waiting to hear from you. Many thanks. I assume that you are looking for a free program to do that. I don't think you will find one. Adobe Photoshop will do it, but it's very expensive.

I don't know why people even think about mentioning PhotoshopCS which is a $1600 dollar program, and not for anyone doing once in awhile graphics. I would recommend Paint shop pro or Photoimpact both by Corel and cheaper than Elements. Elements runs about 99 and Paint shop pro and PhotoImpact are in the 60 dollar range and actually do more than Photo Elements. I am not certain but may be a program such as Picassa might work but most freebies do not have cloning capabilities.

If it's just a one time thing, you could always download the trial verion. For Ulead PhotoImpact 12 it says "fully functional trial edition of Ulead PhotoImpact 12" which will inclue an editor as you mentioned above. Gimp could do that for free wouldn't it? Of course, its got a very high learning curve.
