First timer here, hope this is the right place for this post.
Whenever I watch TV on my PC through Catalyst Media Center, my CPU utilization hovers between 90 & 100% (even if no other programs are running) which at times causes the video to freeze.
I have an ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI tuner card which is supposed to offload the decoding work from the CPU.
Windows XP Professional SP2
Pentium 4 3.06 CPU
Intel D845PESV motherboard (533 FSB)
2GB Mushkin PC3200 memory
ATI Radeon 9800 XT (AGP 4x)
Samsung SyncMaster 245bw (1900 x 1250)
Planar PL150M (secondary)
Catalyst Media CenterI realize that my system is an older one with single core processor, but I think my hardware should be more than sufficient to watch TV without my PC freezing up!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
PS - It doesn't matter if I watch TV on primary or secondary monitor, CPU utilization is 90-100% either way.
