You need to use Nero Vision express.

Search for avi to dvd converter

here is one

I use Winavi, this is quicker than Nero

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

Yes, you need a Nero version that includes 'Nero Vision'.

Try a Google search for 'Free DVD Creator'.

Nero is a good choice. A DVD burner software can also help you solve the problem. Just choose which you like.

For converting video to DVD,I usually use this program to convert and burn DVDs.It works pretty well for me.

It can convert and burn all the common format to DVD quickly, such as,AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF,DAT, MOV, FLV and even most HD formats like MKV files, FLV (Youtube), M2TS, TP and TRP.It supports movie trimming, cropping and effect adjustment, set brightness, contrast, saturation and resolution.

Wish it helps!
