Comment:

I have a video in 720p encoded with x264 mkv file format (Matroska). The problem is it's stuttering occasionally. So I check the task manager and it's using 100% of one of my CPU cores, which obviously is the problem. I'm guessing the codec used to play the video has to support multithreading to take advantage of multiple cores.. correct? Is there anyway to remedy this situation? I've tried multiple players (Media Player Classic and VLC), I've searched google for solutions but can't find anything. All I want is to be able to watch these videos without lag.
Any ideas?

You would probably be better off converting that to mpeg2 and then playing.

I have no problems playing 720p, 1080i, or 1080p in mpeg2 with nero showtime, or powerdvd
