I know all the answers that people put and have memorized by rote, "Convert to .mov..." But I've got upward of 150+ AVI files all larger than 100MB. Is there a way to "hack" m'ipod (3rd gen nano) to play AVI's? I know I could only store some at a time. I saw something about hacking itunes on a forum... but it required a mac.

That is a very unorganized and confusing website... Couldn't find a thing! Besides... it seems to be focused on Mac users, and I'm a geeky PC owner...

Hacking an Ipod means patching it's internal code. I think your only chance (and I believe there is probably none) is an Ipod site like the one suggested by Sci-Guy.

I had no luck navigating that site... has anyone ever seen an AVI hack on that site?

... Yes it is... but I have upward of 150 AVI's at over 100MB each. Not only would conversion take FOREEEEEVER, but it would take up even more space.

Hmm... I must try this video out thing... I wonder if it will work with my 3rd gen nano... A good converter, but I can find plenty of those! Thanks a ton for the link!

AVI...hmm lets see. What codec are you talking about: Divx, intel indeo, xvid, blah blah, x.264. You need to be more specific. AVI is a container, not a codec.

Various codecs. But I'm not too worried about it anymore. I managed to convert most of them over the course of a few days. :P A couple of them didn't, but that's ok.
