I was given my dream PC for a gift and in turn gave my two young kids my old baby, my first PC a P3 750MHZ running WinMe ,I learned alot on that computer about computing and I installed a Graphics card in it a sound card a CD-RW internial drive added RAM ! However I've come up against a wall trying to get my young daughters new Kodak Easyshare Digitial camera to work by plugging it into the PC via USB port .On my new PC a 2.8 G.B. Dual Core 2G.B. DDR2 RAM it allows me to upload the pictures to the My Pictures folder ! However when I hook it up to the WinMe PC it shows a picture of a digitial camera in My Computer ,and offers me a list of Cameras to pick from ,however of course her new Camera is not listed .This P3 does not have a memorey card reader so I have to try and get it to work with USB like it does on my WinXP MCE 2005 PC ? Can anyone direct me on how to go about makng this happen or is the O/S just to old to read a camera with a USB connection only ? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! Happy 2008 and many more !! Thank You Nick

I would say you should install only the cam driver off the cd....that should work. I don't like installing all the other trash from installation discs either.

THank you for your replies ! I have a 16 in 1 memorey card reader on my new PC the 2.8 Dual Core PC ,however the P3 does not hae any memorey card reading ability nor do I have the hard ware to support it even if it did ? I have not tried some other steps I can try yet ,for instance installing just the drivers off the CD ,however I think it says its compatable with WinXP or Vista only ,however I just recieved so many accessories for my PC as X-Mas presents I may/hope Iam wrong on that point ! Thanks Again fellow computin.net members Sincerely Nick

You can get a USB memory card reader. Just get one that is recognized in ME. I have several that run under Win98. A SD to USB reader costs as little as $10. I prefer using a card reader than a direct camera connection because less software has to be loaded. You may be limited in size of the memory card to 2GB.
