Hi, I'm a 14 year old filmmaker who needs a new computer for my hobby. My original idea was a Mac Mini, and it still mostly is, because I'm a previous mac user. I use a lot of Mac-exclusive programs and am familiar with the operating system. That said, I'm pretty fed up with Apple because I've waited 6 MONTHS for the mac mini refresh, new processors etc. I'm also thinking of buying a Gaming PC, for my video-editing software uses graphics cards pretty heavily. I am obviously totally new to the PC market, so I need a little help deciding if I want to go through with this. I have a budget for about $750, and want the best I could get for that. I could really use a pros perspective.

I'm not familiar with film-making applications per se, but I am familiar with the Mac Mini (I have two) and with PCs (I have had many over the years). Whilst the Mini is a fine machine for certain purposes, I believe that you will get a far more powerful and upgradable PC for the same outlay. In particular, with the Mini you are stuck with onboard graphics whereas you can choose your graphics card for a PC, and upgrade it later if need be.

Providing that the software that you require is available for a PC I would choose that.
