flv codex messed up

Specs: Windows XP
i had a freind who installed a flv codex for my windows media player on my pc,but now my collors have bin al mixed up.
no matter what i try the collors won' t come back,so now i see everything including at the bootup whitout any red collors at all
already try'd to system recorvery to earleye dat and a register tweaker but it stil the same
i'm using the nvidia 8800 gs video card and xp service pack 3

The codec has nothing to do with your problem.

The most likely cause is a loose monitor cable connector. If it's not loose it's probably a broken wire in the connector. You can test that by watching the screen and wiggling the monitor cable. If the red appears and disappears, it's a broken connection.

If it's an LCD monitor, you can probably replace the cable.

If it's a CRT monitor, it would be pretty expensive to repair. Probably best to replace it with a LCD.
