Comment: Hi Y'all, Techno-challenged senior citizen here again. I was wondering if there is an easy/free way to crop an image in a pdf file like this (warning! big file) https://164.214.2.62/dafif/enroutechartscur/ename/ENAME%20L-15%2013%20APR%202006.pdf or maybe convert to or save as a tif file or something I can use my Photoimpact 4.2 to edit? Thanks!

Reply: (edit)Photoimpact will probably open the .pdf. Then Save it as a .TIF, then crop it & resave as whatever... 754 3700+ @ 255x10 HTx4 ASUS K8Ne Deluxe 2GB PQI DDR3200 / 6600GT Ultra 500w x-connect PSUPowerbok G4 1.67 1GB DDR 100GB 7200rpm / 9700 vid AMD64 3400+/768MB/5700VE 1 Toshiba & a Dell

Reply: (edit)I don't know of any way to extract a picture file from a PDF file. But you 'might' be able to use the 'Print Screen' key on the keyboard. Then paste it into a graphics program. Sorry, I do not check for private messages

Reply: (edit)In AdobeReader use the selection tool to select the picture. Then right click the picture and click Copy Image to Clipboard. Open a new file in your picture editor and paste.

Reply: (edit)That pdf you linked to is not built from an "image" as the page loads different elements are drawn separately, also if you zoom in enough you can actually select text. So, you could not simply copy and past it. If you want it as an image you should, ideally, find the program that the "image" was originally created with and save as an image from that. Or, you could do as stated above and do a print screen. Michael J

Reply: (edit)rhawk7938 was right-on! Thanks! Photoimpact won't open pdf. Selecting an area caught all of the stuff: lat/longs, control zones, etc.
