I've ripped video files off a dvd I've been given using a program called DVD Fab. They are on my computer and I would like to edit them. I have opened Windows Movie Maker and tried to click and drag the files onto the storyboard, (as I'm told you're supposed to). At this point nothing happens!

I don't know why this is, they are all MPEG files and play whenever I click them.

The reason I want to edit them is they are too big to go on youtube and I'm planning to cut them down so they can. They are of me playing football.

Thanks.

I haven't used MovieMaker in a while but like many video editors you usually have to import the video so that it's in a format that the program's happy with. There should be a 'tasks' button or menu with an 'import' option - try that, navigate to the folder you've ripped the movies into & see if that works.

The MPEG2 format has several codecs that are not supported by Windows Movie Maker. Even if you have downloaded and installed these codecs on your computer, files in the MPEG2 format may not work in Windows Movie Maker or may cause other problems. Converting the MPEG2 format to another compatible format may work for most MPEG2 files.
You can use some video edit tool to convert and split your video files, I recommend Xilisoft video converter which could convert video between several video formats
