Is it possible to edit music that is a Windows Media file that has been recorded to a CDR without wrecking the CD? Thank you.

Nope. All you can do is rip the track from the CD and edit it with say an audio editing program. With a CDRW, it's possible to do what I just mentioned; but it's also possible to erase the disc and reburn the edited music. The amount of times you can do this is few and varies with each disc.
