DVI to HDMI or VGA input

ok i have my computer hooked to the back of a 40 inch lcd tv with the vga input. i was just wondering if i got the dvi to hdmi cable would there be any difference? and would it be worth it? The back of my video card to my comp is dvi i have the adapter to go from dvi to vga.

I don't have any experience in this area, but logic tells me that it should work a lot better going DVI to HDMI. I suspect that you have to use either 640x480 or 800x600 going DVI to VGA. But I 'think' you should be able to use much higher resolutions going DVI to HDMI. But wait for other people to post who have had experience with this.

Thanks for ur advice...actually i have my resolution at 1280x960 its as high as it will go even though it says the tv is suppose to support 1366x768. 1280x960 looks the best out of all the resolutions it will let me do, in my opinion anyways.
And for the dvi to hdmi thats kinda what i was thinkin is that i would get higher resolutions. But would the picture quality have any noticable differences?
