OK, I'm finally stumped. I have been burning DVDs for quite some time using my DVD-RW which can burn both DVD-R and DVD+R blank disks. However, I had only been using DVD-Rs and then tried to use a DVD+R. I use Nero and didn't have any problems with the process until the end. Nero said that it had completed the burning but when I tried to play the DVD-R on either the computer or a DVD player, it wouldn't work. You could see on the back of the DVD that something had been burned onto it, but when I put it in the computer, it wouldn't recognize any data (it said 0KB on the disk and 0KB available--it wasn't blank). And when I put in it the DVD player, the player completely froze up and I had to unplug the player in order to get the DVD out. I thought it might be a media problem, so I switched to the Memorex DVD-R disks I had used a couple weeks ago without any problems and they did the same thing. I've tried this using high quality mode for encoding DVDs as well as simple DVD copying. The thing that is frustrating is that you can see that something is burned on them but nothing will recognize the media. Any idea what's up? Do I need to send in my DVD-RW drive?

I have experienced the same and it is frustrating. I think the trick is to find a format that you work well with and just stick to it. I found this page by googling about the different formats. I am sure there is a ton of info on the web regarding this subject matter.
