Hello All, I hope someone can help with this problem. I was happily playing DVDs for a long time, then suddenly WinDVD stopped working. When you hit play it does nothing.
The same thing happens in WMP11.
Strangely the DVD will play in VLC Player, but the quality is not as good as it was, very pixalated and it seems the frame rate has dropped in quality as well. There are also 2 or 3 lines running across the screen.
So far I'cve rolled back to WMP9, reinstalled WMP11, reinstalled VLC but nothing has helped. I need to find my installation dick for WinDVD to reinstall that..

Any other ideas would be great.

The issue most likely will be with the mpeg2 codec which gets installed when you install WINDVD. So don't bother with media player. Find the install for windvd and you'll be good to go or install other dvd playing software that includes the mpeg2 codec. VLC has all it's codec's built in so that's why that works.
