Comment: I have a DVD which was poorly formated or something, anyways it will not play on a regular player but will play on my computer. I have VLC and can vonvert to MPEG but not to AVI. I need the video in AVI so we can edit it.

Reply: (edit)Virtualdub is a great free program. I think it will accept mpeg files. It can edit and output AVIs.

Reply: (edit)'Well Virtualdub dislikes my DVD. I still neeed to convert tho." Virtualdub will not accept DVD files. You will have to convert them to MPG first. You can change the extent of .VOB files to .MPG and they will be accepred by any converter/player that accepts MPG files.
