|My grandfather is interested in local history and has been given a DVD+R disc containing a programmed recorded from the TV. This plays fine in his Sony DVD player. He has asked me if I could make a copy of this DVD for him.|
I took the DVD home and tried to run it on my Dell desktop running windows 7 but the disc would not play. Windows saw it as a blank DVD. I booted into Ubuntu but again the disc was not recognised. I tried it in my normal Samsung DVD player and it spat it out with the message "cannot play this disc".
As the DVD does work in my Grandfathers DVD player does anyone know of a way I can make windows or linux make an exact image of the disc even though the operating system views it as blank?
