Almost ever DVD that I burn, whether it is a video DVD or data DVD, will not read in my DVD burner. My laptop act as if there is not a DVD in the drive after it has been burn. Only a select few will read and the ones that do I burn them the exact same way. My video DVDs play fine in my standalone DVD player. What could be the cause of this?

The first thing to try is a drive cleaner. It is a different laser writes to the one that reads, so it can write but not read.
