Can someone step me through inserting subtitles in DivxtoDVD ver 1.99 etc ? I saw the menu pop up once, but I sure can't find it again. Thanks in advance

I have, and I copped out. Went and used WinAVI Video Converter 6.3 instead.
Does the same job and uses vobsub for the subs. So as long as the movie plays in media player classic with subs and the green vobsub logo in the bottom, it should work with winavi.
Very easy to use, but any probs, post back and i'll try and help.

p.s you can dl it fast from bit torrent, just make sure you go and buy it ;)

Tks for the come back. I have winavi, but my version doesn't have srt insertion capabilities. Lemme go look for a later version and see if it has that feature. I like winavi a lot.

I checked out 6.3, and it's the same layout as mine. i still see no proper way to insert the subs. How do you do it...just highlight both the avi and the srt and tell it to process both? That gets me a nasty menu box and no luck. What's your secret ?

Hi,
Sorry for the late come back. Right with WinAvi 6.3 you dont have to insert the subs. If you have windows media player classic and you play the file (without loading the subs just by dbl clicking the avi file) and a little green arrow comes up in the tray on the bottom right and the subs play then, you have vobsub and the subs should come up on winavi in the same automatic way.
If you dont have it http://download.divxmovies.com/VobSub_2.23.exe
Then make sure you have the film file and the sub file in the same folder with the same name just different file extensions. This is how directvobsub works by assuming the subs are the same name as the avi file eg.
I have Taegukgi - Brotherhood of War (excellent film)
TAEGUKGI-The.Brotherhood.of War.(2004).avi
TAEGUKGI-The.Brotherhood.of War.(2004).srtnow if directvobsub is installed and you play this with media player classic and the subs come up with a green arrow in the system tray on the bottom right then it should work with winavi.
Post back if you can and let me know how you get on and i'll carry on watching this thread

I'm such a happy camper ! Reinstalling vobsub, and some codecs, and then realizing that the two files had to exactly titled the same made all the difference ! Now we'll see if it is any faster than AvitoDVD, which takes for damnever. Thanks man. I appreciate your efforts. BTW, TAEGUKGI is a great flick...especially since I spent a year and a half over there. The check's in the mail.
