Hi everybody, I have installed software for a
camera, but when i plug the camera in to the pc
;The new hardware icon does not come up:
when i try to get pc to read camera it tells me the camera is not connected,i have tried several usb but the camera does not seem to be recognised by the pc.The odd thing is with the camera plugged in my pics are showing in the the finepix viewer if i turn camera off the pictures disappear from the pc.obviously
the camera is getting read but im not able to save the pictures from this other view.

You didn't mention the type of camera but most of now don't light up the "new hardware" icon. It will instead show up in MY COMPUTER when plugged in as 'mass storage device' or 'removable drive (f, or g or...)'
As with other plug and play devices, you can set it up so that the pictures are automatically openned for viewing or editing or what ever.

The Fuji FinePix cameras I have seen do not support 'mass storage device'. You must either use the included software or use a seperate card reader.
findaot:
Have you tried reinstalling the software or used a card reader.
Also, have you tried this:
1. Connect the digital camera to the PC. The "Viewer" window opens and the images are displayed as thumbnails.
2. Click "Select All" in the "Edit" menu.
3. All the images are selected (indicated by a pink frame). With the left-hand mouse button held down, move (drag) the images to the folder in which you want to save them and then release the button (drop).
