I have a strange problem with my digital camera. Last night I was taking a video with it and half way through the battery went dead. Now the camera won't even turn on if the sd card is inserted, but will work without it. Is it the sd card that went bad or did the camera screw itself over.

Probably the file/directory structure was corrupted when the camera attempted to write with the dying battery.

Just do a reformat of the card, either through a card reader, or in the camera with fresh batteries and it should work again.
