I have a smal digital camera that has worked extremely well although it was inexpensive. however it was left at someones house, they proceeded to use it and tried to unload the pics to their computer. Ever since, when i plug in the usb cable, I get SIDC in the window instead of MSDC and i cant unload pics. I've tried everything and am so frustrated!!! I'm hoping its something simple i'm missing.

what camera brand is it? Does it have it's own software? I usually just plug in my olympic and fuji cams and xp says it found a new device and then loads up a removeable folder on C drive. I NEVER use photo programs to d/l my pics.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

The Camera is generic Ion 301...actually I was surprised how well it worked. It does have software photoimpression 5 I just cant seem to figure out if this message SIDC, which I've never seen before, is a result of the connection to computer or an internal setting in the camera. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the hardware...still no luck. I cant even get it register that its connected to the computer.

If it recognozes your camera, open the removeable drive and add the pics to any folder you like. Then open some photo software to edit your pics. This way, the photo program doesn't take control of your pics.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

It is saying that the hardware is installed for the camera yet says there is no divice connected to the computer...can you tell me the difference between SIDC...and MSDC which was always the message on the camera before i would unload pictures? I've never seen this message SIDC before this happened.

It would be called a removeable drive. It sounds to me like you have your CD in Drive D. It would probably be removeable drive E.

Just open my computer and you should see the drives

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
