Digital camera downloading to TV

Specs: Canon PowerShot SX260 HS
Hello, I hope you can help us with our tech question regarding our PowerShot SX260 HS. The camera works perfectly fine but while connecting to our HD tv we've hit some snags. We followed directions from the manual to connect and the photos have downloaded onto the screen. The problems are:

1) not all photos on the camera are on the TV

2) photos displayed are out of order by date ( therefore vacations )

3) can not play the videos that we took
.... Only 1 of several videos even transferred to the tv

1. Not sure why not all photos transferred to your TV, is there possibly a file size limitation?

2. They might be ordered by name instead of date.

3. Look in the TV's manual to see what kind of videos it can play, IE MPEG, MP4. Etc. you might need to convert them to a format that the TV can decode.

Many playback devices require that the data is named with a certain format and in a certain folder. Make sure the picture and video names are in the 8.3 format, IE the name is only 8 letters/numbers long and the extension is 3 letters. Also make sure all video and picture files are in a folder named DCIM on the root of the drive.

You might also try copying the DCIM folder (with all the pictures and video files in it) to a thumb drive and try that in your TV. The TV May have problems reading data directly from a camera.

THX 1138 , Thank you for responding and your detailed ideas. I think your idea of a file size limitation may be the issue since all 2000 plus pictures didn't even all download to our desktop...and that hold quite a lot. We'll start with downloading the pictures that did go to the desktop on to another device, possibly a disc, then do the same with the rest in the camera.
