Dark LCD display on Caon S5IS

May 30, 2013 at 15:25:27
Specs: Windows 7
I have a Canon Power shot S5IS. Owned for years and LOVE it. Never any problems. Was going to take a pic of my painting yesterday and when I press 1/2 way the LCD goes very dark and the photo taken is dark. It has never been like that before...I may have inadvertently pressed some button without knowing. Cannot view thru the lens viewer because of my glasses. Cannot use the flash because it reflects of the painting surface... I just want it back were it was...Auto, point and shoot, even in low light it never had a dark LCD . I've read the manual but cannot find or fix the problem. Can anyone help? I have changed the batteries. Thanks for any help.

Just check your manual on how to reset the camera to factory settings, that may work

Checked the manual...setting are set back to original. No help. My daughter thinks its a camera malfunction, because it doesn't adjust ISO in auto format. Would like to get it fixed but a new camera with higher optical zoom is probably cheaper. Thanks for your help.
