Subject: covert slides to CD/DVDOS: Win XP ProCPU/Ram: AMD 2100+/512 MBModel/Manufacturer: Home Built |
Comment: Aside from all the services offered on the Internet for converting color slides to digital pictures to be put on a CD or DVD, is there any equipment out there that a person can use in the home or even available? Any recommendations either way? Thanks

Reply: (edit)An Epson 4180 scanner will do the job for you It has a holder to hold the slides properly, and works just fine for me. Other mfrs should have a similar setup available. I wonder what'll happen if I do this ?

Reply: (edit)Thanks, sterlingk. I don't know why I didn't think of a scanner. My head was someplace else. Thanks for pulling it out. Will look into this. Thanks again.

Reply: (edit)Best to use a proper slide scanner rather than a flatbed with a slide adapter, otherwise you'll lose resolution. I use a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV which is the equivalent of a 15 megapixel digicam. This is one of the cheapest at around $400. Bryan
