I'm working on a photo catalog in word to convert it to pdf. Unfortunatelly when I do so (with primopdf) pictures distort and is impossible to use that as a catalog.
Does any of you had this problem or know how to solve it?
I'll be eternally grateful if you help me with this!

Alida.

If you are trying to convert it verbatim I would recommend using PDFcreator. It is free software and I have used it to convert Word documents (assuming you mean MS-Word) directly to PDF documents without any problem. Of course, there may be something about the document which you are trying to convert which I haven't experienced and it may not work so well for you.

If you are wanting to use photos out of the Word document and creating a catalog in your own format, I would suggest just using the built-in capability of Windows to copy images from the screen (capture the active window with Alt + PrintScrn) then paste the image into a photo editing tool like Windows Paint and then use in your PDF file after editing/converting to what you want.

Try OpenOffice maybe.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Simplest tool I've found for doing this is CutePDF it's free and installs as if it's a printer - you just 'print' your Word (or any other) document and then save it. Never had any poblems with altering layout, it just prints as you see it. Full instructions and download are on the site.
