Hey! I have pictures and my photographer gave them to me on a cd and they're .bmp and to add them to my portfolio they have to be .jpeg... can anyone help me please?!?!

download irfanview: http://www.download.com/IrfanView/3... Just drop your bmp on the icon (AFTER you've installed it on your PC) and you can save it as a jpg.

Irfanview is THE best FREE image manipulation/viewing tool if your running Windows, but it is written for Windows PCs only. I have read that it works with WINE under Linux if you have that set up on your computer. For a linux system, I would recommend using Imagemagick, as I know it will convert Windows bitmap files (.bmp) to JPEG or any other of dozens of different image file formats. I believe Gimp is able to make that conversion as well, but I'm not sure.
